For more than 30 years, this low-key family pizzeria has been turning out hot, thin-crust, New York-style pizzas topped with high-quality toppings. These days the neighborhood has changed, but the outstanding pizza hasn't. The staff is friendly and used to dealing with loyal regulars who come for the cheap and tasty dishes. In addition to pizza, options include southern Italian specialties like veal parmigiana, meatball heros, baked ziti, lasagna and doughy garlic rolls.

NO TIME FOR FAST FOOD(unless its MARIO'S)
Citysearch
I eat lunch at the downtown location often. I work at fedex and our agents order delivery almost every day. Of course downtown your not limited to where you can eat. The quantity is high. The problem is the quality. Although the location isn't great on the outside ( HELLO IT IS DOWNTOWN MIAMI) the inside is very clean and the workers are great. They all make me feel like im apart of the family.( YOU WON'T SEE TWO CO-WORKERS FIGHTING OVER WHO WILL SERVE YOU) I LOVE THIS PLACE ( not to mention when i only have 5 dollars for lunch i can get 2 slices of pie and a soda!) |
Italian Ambrosia!!!
Zagat
I grew up in North Miami. I now live in Orlando and do not think twice about visiting Greater Miami and of course 'our' Mario The Baker. I MUST visit and eat, nothing has changed! Better NOT! Maybe a few faces and the red shelving to the left just inside as you walk in...Ha
Garlic Rolls? I have NOT found or are not duplicated anywhere else in my 56 years on planet earth. I take a bag home and freeze, not quite the same nuked BUT their Mario's....YUM!

Garloc Rolls....
Citysearch
Born and raised 5 minutes from the center of the universe, I can testify that Mario's (and John the Baker) has the ultimate food.... garlic rolls.
These garlic rolls should be on a list that includes the Holy Grail and the Ark of the Covenant. They should be guarded at Ft. Knox, or displayed to aliens as an example of what Earthlings can do. I think they cure cancer. I would name kids after them.
You can not over-exaggerate the beauty of this food.

Cheap Eat!!!
Yelp
Mario the Baker is a cheap and delicious lunch spot for those that work in and around midtown. The new location (at the corner of 25th St & Biscayne) is great - with a spacious, open dining area, and flat-screen tvs so you can catch up on news and sports while you eat. The new location is also more convenient for large groups, as there are many tables to be pushed together in the main dining area.
The food is great too. The lunch special with 2 slices of pizza and a soda for under $6 can't be beat. The subs are very tasty too. The pasta and baked dishes are also very good, but sometimes need an extra kick of red pepper flakes or garlic salt. And speaking of garlic - the garlic rolls - covered in butter & pieces of garlic - are amazing! Be sure to order at least 2 for yourself - they're addictive!
There's a free parking lot across the street (on 25th St). Well, it's not really a lot per se, but rather a little grassy area with fencing around it and signs that say "Parking for Mario the Baker." |
Great sauce!
Urbanspoon
Nice place to dine in or have delivered. Food is good. The sauce is great. Don't forget the famous garlic rolls.
Recommend the meatball sub. Parking around the corner. I agree, its better than the usual italian pizza chains. |
My Favorite Pizza!!!
Yelp
Mario the Baker Pizza is my favorite Pizza ! Not only are pickup orders available quite fast, the owner is very nice and the restaurant is very family friendly.
You can go watch sports or even ask to have the Disney channel put on for the kids on one of the 5 TVs.
I also love the fried calamari and mozzarella sticks. |
